Steve Roberts believes that there is entirely too much bickering between the two major American parties. Because this is a partisan election, Roberts believes that running as a genuine independent will afford the opportunity to sit on the State Board as an objective voice for Kansan school children.

Party Politicians Fuss Too Much
We have seen a long, contentious presidential campaign, and it continues. We have also seen an increasing emphasis on the need to end gridlock and political posturing. Having the freedom to act independently will be important to solving educational problems in Topeka.

Those providing financial backing for Steve Roberts believe that 2008 will be a good year for an independent candidate. The deck, of course, is stacked in favor of the two-party system.
